FOIA Request to Adams County Regarding Vendor Payments from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SC Wisconsin News have submitted a request for records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to Adams County.

The request was made on September 26, 2024, and it specifically seeks a list of all payments made to vendors within the county from January 1, 2024, through September 26, 2024. The information requested includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.

Our role as a media organization involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
