A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Arlington regarding same day registered voters on November 7, 2024. The request was made by SC Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The request specifically asked for a list of new registrations voters that registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As a media organization, we at SC Wisconsin News are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We have asked the Town of Arlington to let us know if they have any questions regarding this request.
