FOIA Request to Town of Courtland Regarding Same Day Registered Voters on November 7, 2024.

In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SC Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Courtland. The request was made for a list of new voters who registered to vote on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver.

We await the response from the Town of Courtland regarding this request and will continue to work diligently in disseminating information vital for public knowledge and awareness.
