FOIA Request to Town Of Dakota Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

We at SC Wisconsin News have formally requested a list of new voter registrations from the Town of Dakota under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. The request specifically asks for a list of voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

In our request, we also mentioned our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information to the public.

We await the response from the Town Of Dakota and will continue to strive for transparency and accountability in our reporting.
