A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Randolph in Wisconsin on November 7, 2024. The request was made by SC Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

In our quest for transparency and accountability, we requested records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically asking for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is vital in ensuring that the public has access to complete and accurate data about their local government’s activities.

As a media organization, we believe in the importance of public access to such records. It is through this transparency that we can hold public institutions accountable and provide our readers with the information they need to make informed decisions about their community.

We also noted our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information to the public.

We await the response from the Village of Randolph regarding this request.
