FOIA Request to Waushara County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.

In our continuous effort to ensure transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at SC Wisconsin News have sent a request to Waushara County under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.

The specific fields requested include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount. We believe that this information is crucial in shedding light on the county’s financial transactions within this period.

As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We have also indicated our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information. We await a favorable response from Waushara County as we continue our work in ensuring transparency and accountability in local governance.
