In this comprehensive overview of self or independent publishing, independently-published author Valerie Biel will discuss why you might want to self-publish (based on your goals) along with an honest look at the pros and cons. She’ll also cover how to best assess what you’re capable of learning/doing on your own and when you’ll want to hire a professional to assist you. Then she’ll dive into the details of the lingo of the publishing world, business basics you need to consider, book readiness and formatting, categories and keywords, plus options for both print, e-book, and audio distribution. There’ll be time to ask questions! Registration required. Visit the library's website to register. We will use your email address to send you the link to the event a day or two beforehand. You do not need to use a computer for this virtual book club. A smartphone or tablet will also work. The event will take place on Zoom.
