Historic Plaque Installation At Town Square
Date:
Friday, September 23, 2022
Time:
(5:00 Pm - 6:00 Pm) (Cdt)
Description:
The community is invited to Town Square Community Center at 5pm for the installation of a plaque designating the building's placement on the National Register of Historic Places. Last spring, Town Square Community Center was awarded a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation to purchase the plaque commemorating the history of the Green Lake County Courthouse which Town Square now occupies. The courthouse has been on the national register for 40 years, but there has not been a sign to indicate the building’s significance. The grant allowed Town Square to finally display an official marker to celebrate its rich history in our community. Join us the Friday before Harvest Fest for installation as we celebrate our community and Green Lake’s 175th anniversary. It will be a brief ceremony recognizing the building, Town Square and the volunteers, donors, activity participants and quiet supporters.
