Loneliness coach Carrie Sackett speaks at UW-Stevens Point on emotional wellness

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is set to host a presentation by Carrie Sackett, known as America's loneliness coach, on February 27. The event aims to provide the community with emotional tools for managing challenging and transitional situations.

Sackett will deliver a talk titled “We’re Doing Our Emotions All Wrong! A New Toolkit for the Whole Family” at the Dreyfus University Center Theater. This free community event is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and pre-registration is encouraged via familyemotionsuwsp.eventbrite.com.

Julia Fischer, assistant dean of the School of Health Sciences and Wellness, expressed enthusiasm about Sackett's visit. "We are thrilled to welcome Carrie Sackett to UW-Stevens Point to share her innovative approach to emotional wellness," she stated. "Her insights on building meaningful connections and navigating life’s challenges align perfectly with our mission to support the holistic well-being of our students and community."

Carrie Sackett brings over 25 years of experience in emotional wellness and personal growth. She has served as a Fortune 500 global change leader and an award-winning employee engagement professional. Additionally, she authored “Social Therapeutic Coaching: A Practical Guide to Group and Couples Work,” with her articles featured in publications such as “Choice: The Magazine of Professional Coaching” and “Coaching Perspectives.”

The event is sponsored by the UWSP School of Health Sciences and Wellness Student Success Center.
