The Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin (AROW) held its annual awards ceremony at the 2025 Wisconsin Integrated Resource Management Conference. The event, which took place on February 27th, celebrated notable achievements in recycling and waste reduction throughout the state.

This year, AROW presented three awards. Betsy Powers, President of AROW, remarked on the significance of recognizing those dedicated to the industry: “AROW is always eager to recognize individuals who are dedicated to our industry. The recipients this year exemplify the impact of waste reduction and recycling in Wisconsin, showcasing accomplishments in both public and private sectors.”

Ron Jongetjes from JOHNS Disposal received the Christy Dixon Recycler of the Year Award. This award honors an individual whose career reflects high professional standards. Ron Jongetjes has been a reliable figure in southeastern Wisconsin's recycling sector. In 2024, he assisted multiple Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) that were either undergoing renovations or recovering from fires.

Recycling Connections in Stevens Point was awarded for Outstanding Achievement in Waste Reduction and Recycling. This recognition is given to entities excelling in environmental education related to solid waste and recycling. Recycling Connections provides educational services across Wisconsin, promoting awareness about waste reduction and recycling practices.

Rubina Martini, owner of Process in Stevens Point, also received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Waste Reduction and Recycling. Established in 2020, Process is a low-waste shop focused on sustainability by offering products with minimal packaging sourced locally when possible.
