North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board has chosen Brian Kalish as its new Executive Director. Starting May 4, 2025, Kalish will take over from Jane Spencer, who is retiring after leading the organization for nearly six years.
Kalish is currently NCWWDB's Workforce Services Director and has experience in business engagement, workforce strategy, and regional economic development. He enters this role with a focus on connecting people with employment opportunities and aiding business growth. “I’m honored to step into this role at such a critical time for our region’s workforce,” said Kalish. He emphasized the chance to work with the team and community partners to further NCWWDB's mission.
Spencer's tenure saw significant growth and innovation in the organization's programs, assisting employers and job seekers with market changes. NCWWDB Board Member Paula Erickson commented, "Jane has made tremendous contributions to the Workforce Development Board and greatly impacted our communities during her tenure. Her knowledge and experience will be missed but we are very excited to work with Brian and see what is ahead as he steps into his new role."
Kalish, who joined NCWWDB in 2021 as Business Services Director, has been involved in various employer-focused projects in the nine-county area. His previous background includes roles in higher education, small business, and journalism. Kalish holds an MBA from UW-Stevens Point and a bachelor's degree in English from UW-Madison.
