On Friday, April 4th, the Portage County's annual Taste of Wine & Cheese event was held, marking its 20th year of bringing together the community of Stevens Point, WI, while raising funds for youth programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County.
The event saw over 700 guests in attendance, alongside support from Festival Foods, Midwest Communications, John & Patty Noel, Len Dudas Motors, WAOW, and over 100 other sponsors and donors. Attendees enjoyed an array of over 100 international wines, specialty cheeses, local brews, and desserts. The evening featured a silent auction, Dippin’ for Bling and Cork Pull Raffles, and a Wishing Tree with club needs.
The funds from the fundraiser are not confined to a one-night event. They sponsor year-round programming at the Boys & Girls Club, such as meals, homework assistance, and safe environments for youth both during school and in the summer.
The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County appreciates the support received from businesses, donors, and volunteers. As reported, 100% of proceeds benefit the club members directly.
Pictures from the event will be shared on the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County Facebook page.
The Boys & Girls Club is a consistent resource for local youth and families, serving over 2,000 young people across Portage County with locations in Stevens Point, Plover, Junction City, Rosholt, and Almond/Bancroft. An annual membership is set at $10 with affordable fees for year-round programs. More details and donation opportunities can be accessed on their website and social media.
