The Wausau Softball Club has officially rebranded as Wausau Ignite Softball. The club has introduced new logos, colors, and branding elements in collaboration with Brandiose. The team is now part of Central Wisconsin Sports and Entertainment, same as the Wausau Woodchucks, and will be managed by the same front office staff.
This rebranding aligns with the club's mission during its inaugural 2025 season in the Northwoods League Softball, combined with feedback from a community-led "Name the Team" contest. The name "Ignite" emphasizes the club's aim to spark interest in women's sports nationally.
General Manager Brianne Barta expressed enthusiasm about the new identity, stating, “We are excited to share this exciting new brand with the community. We feel it will reflect the intensity and passion the team will bring to the field.”
The team’s logo, featuring elements like the Northern Lights, symbolizes their commitment to spotlight collegiate softball and women's sports overall.
Wausau Ignite Softball acknowledged support from several partners, as well as from the broader Central Wisconsin community. Partners include Cellcom, Wisconsin Chevy Dealers, Wipfli, among others.
The season opener is scheduled for June 10, against the La Crosse Steam at Athletic Park in Wausau. Tickets are available for purchase through the team's website or by phone.
