Mia Johnson joins Wausau Ignite Softball for inaugural season

Wausau Ignite Softball has announced that Mia Johnson will be joining their roster for the 2025 season. Johnson, a catcher and infielder, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, bats and throws right-handed, and is a junior at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside.

Johnson hails from South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has been a valuable player at UW-Parkside for three seasons. In 2024, she earned a place on the First Team for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and was named Player of the Year, hitting .383 with 44 runs batted in (RBIs).

During the 2025 season, Johnson has been consistent, hitting .369 in 44 games and achieving a .512 on-base percentage with 48 hits and 42 RBIs. In addition to her batting prowess, she has been a reliable defender for Parkside, posting a fielding percentage of .979.

Wausau Ignite Softball's opening day is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th, against the La Crosse Steam at Athletic Park in Wausau.
