Infielder Valerie Osthoff, a junior from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, has joined the Wausau Ignite Softball team for the upcoming 2025 season. Osthoff, who hails from Geona, Wisconsin, began her athletic career at De Soto High School before enrolling at Waubonsee Community College. Last season, she played in the Northwoods League Softball with the La Crosse Steam.
In her current season at Carroll University, Osthoff has achieved a batting average of .253 over 79 at-bats for the Pioneers. Her performance includes 15 RBIs, 20 hits, 15 walks, and a fielding percentage of .930, with 33 put-outs and 20 assists.
The Wausau Ignite Softball team is set to begin their season on Tuesday, June 10th, against the La Crosse Steam at Athletic Park in Wausau.
