The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has recognized several students for their achievements and excellence in various competitions and awards. Senior interior architecture students Skyler Mulder and Amelia Retzlaff secured first place in the Student Hospitality/Retail Category at the International Interior Design Association-WI Celebrate in Design Awards. Their success earned them a $1,250 scholarship from the IIDA-WI Susan Wohlitz Memorial Fund.
Brooke Peterson and Mike Brierton, students of the Sentry School of Business and Economics, won first place with a $2,000 cash prize at the 4th annual Wisconsin RMA Commercial Lending Case Competition. Competing against 20 other students statewide, they worked under mentors from First State Bank and Assistant Professor Bo DeDeker.
Several UWSP students participating in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) were honored at the North Central Regional level. These include Cami Errami, Jolie Swanson, Kathryn Lamm, Becca Guth, Reagan Conklin, Giovanni Anello IV, Megan Griffith, and Jaden Richards who advanced to the NATS National Preliminary round.
Student violinist Ashley Springer achieved second place in the Schubert Club Strings competition among six finalists. The competition offers significant scholarships for young musicians' education and invites winners to perform at an annual recital.
Senior Serena Alexander was awarded the 2025 Melvin R. Laird Exceptional Artist Award. This accolade supports her future endeavors as she plans to move to New York City for an outdoor immersive production of Dave Malloy’s “Ghost Quartet.”
Family and consumer sciences student Tessa Wheat received the 2025 CPS Student Heroes Award for her advocacy inspired by her journey with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This award includes a $1,000 scholarship.
Lastly, students Meghan Taylor, David Coleman, Jessica Ryun, Grace Wilson, Prem Janssen, Kevin Peters, Leah Edson, and Michael Mcclure participated in the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium Collegiate Rocket Competition as part of the Pointer Rocketeers team. They achieved a successful flight with a top score of 100 on April 26.
