Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital & Clinics issued the following announcement on May 26.
Congratulations to Patti Karnatz, winner of Aspirus Riverview Hospital's DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Patti is a nurse supervisor and was nominated by a grateful patient, who wrote:
“I was admitted to the ER for the second time in two days. I found out I was going to be admitted to the hospital. Patti was the nurse who transported me to the floor and got me settled. She was so kind and compassionate. I was very scared, and Patti held my hand and said, "We got you." Patti stayed with me until I was settled and the medication I so desperately needed was administered. Patti came back a few times just to check on me to make sure I was alright. Patti, thank you for being there for one of the scariest moments of my life. Thank you for your "yes" to being a nurse. I will always remember you!"
The DAISY Award recognizes the outstanding and extraordinary care nurses provide every day. Our DAISY Award winners and nominees exceed the needs and expectations of patients and families by displaying the Aspirus core values of: Compassion, Accountability, Collaboration, Foresight and Joy.
