Prevail Bank recently held a Community Shred Day in Stevens Point, resulting in a $1,190 donation to CAP Services’ Family Crisis Center. The event aimed to support families in need by turning paper shredding into a fundraising opportunity.
The bank pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, with a cap of $1,000. Community members contributed 1,500 pounds of documents for safe destruction and recycling. Prevail Bank honored its commitment by donating $1,000, while the public added another $190.
A check presentation took place at Prevail Bank’s Stevens Point branch. Kathy Junion from CAP Services Family Crisis Center accepted the donation from Prevail Bank representatives Michele Skare, Eric Kundinger, Dejonna Bates, Dale Sankey, and Raquel Hess.
“This event was a win-win,” stated Bates. “We helped people protect their personal information while supporting a cause that makes a real difference right here in our community.”
Throughout this year, Prevail Bank organized nine Community Shred Day events which collected nearly 9 tons of paper and generated $11,387 for nine nonprofits.
Prevail Bank remains committed to giving back and strengthening communities in central Wisconsin through various initiatives such as fundraising events and volunteer efforts.
