The Stevens Point Area YMCA held its Annual Board Meeting on July 23, 2025, at its facility in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The event brought together staff, board members, donors, and community stakeholders to review the organization's progress over the past year and discuss future plans.

During the meeting, attendees listened to stories highlighting the impact of YMCA programs and learned about recent achievements. Plans for the coming year were also shared, including the addition of the Waushara Community YMCA and renovation projects for the Stevens Point Area YMCA facility.

Several individuals were recognized for their contributions to the organization. Erik Carlson received the Gerald M. O’Brien Leadership Award for his leadership and service. Marg Coker-Nelson was honored with the Copps Family Philanthropic Award for her ongoing philanthropic support. The George May Mission Award was presented posthumously to George May, with his wife Phyllis May accepting on his behalf.

“This event reminds us that the Y is more than a building — it’s a community of people committed to making a difference,” said Ryan Zietlow, CEO of the Stevens Point Area YMCA. “As we grow and evolve, our mission remains the same: to strengthen the foundations of our community through programs that encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.”
