A new exhibition titled “Meet Your Mentors” is currently open at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Carlsten Art Gallery. The show, which runs through Saturday, September 13, features works by faculty members from the university’s School of Design and Communication (SDC). An artist reception is scheduled for Thursday, September 4.

The gallery is located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center. Admission is free, and the public can visit during gallery hours: Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The exhibition aims to give students an opportunity to engage with their instructors’ creative work outside of classroom settings. Faculty members are presenting pieces that demonstrate their artistic processes and professional practices. The participating artists represent all SDC programs, including Art, Art History, Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Media Studies, and Professional Communication.

“The show highlights not only the diverse talent within the SDC, but it also celebrates with the greater Wisconsin community and the expertise and passion that UWSP faculty bring to teaching and their art,” said Carlsen Art Gallery Director Kyle Knoke.

The Carlsten Art Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year. These include displays featuring student work as well as internationally recognized artists. The gallery serves both campus audiences and residents in Central Wisconsin by offering engaging exhibitions and events focused on topics relevant to these communities. As part of UWSP’s College of Fine Arts and Communication, it supports creative exploration under the guidance of faculty, staff, and scholars.
