Adams County's district student body comprised mostly of white students in 2023-24 school year

The majority of students in Adams County district were white in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 1,286 students attending Adams County district schools, 82.5% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnic group among Adams County's district, making up 10.2% of the student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Adams County district, representing 82.9% of the student body.

The Adams County student population comprised American Indian, Asian, African American, Hispanic, multiracial, and white.

In the 2023-24 school year, the total number of students in the county dropped to 2.2% compared to the previous year.

According to the Nation's Report Card 2022 results, Black fourth-graders in Wisconsin scored an average of 40 points lower than their white colleagues in both Math and Reading.

Data also showed that Black students were three times as likely to fail the Reading test than white pupils in the state. The gap is even larger in Mathematics, with Black students failing five times more than white students.
