Marquette County Education: Which district had most students enrolled in schools in 2023-24 school year

Westfield School District had the highest enrollment among Marquette County districts, welcoming 1,033 students during the 2023-24 academic year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 54.5% of them were boys, and 45.5% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 89.6% of the Westfield School District's total enrollment.

Among the two districts in Marquette County, Montello School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 576 students.

Westfield School District roughly covers schools within Marquette County, with its main office in Westfield.

In the previous school year, Westfield School District also had the highest number of students among Marquette County districts.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 14 students in a Wisconsin classroom, compared to the national average of 1:16. AAA State of Play considered Wisconsin to have the 14th best teacher to student ratio in the U.S.
